My story

I once felt for myself what it means to learn a language that seems foreign, difficult, and incomprehensible. I know how hard it is to start speaking when there's a fear of making mistakes inside, while others already understand and can do everything. That's exactly why three things matter so much to me in teaching: support, clarity, and progress.

I've been teaching Estonian since 2020. In that time, hundreds of students have come through my lessons: children, teenagers, and adults - from those who started from scratch to those preparing for an exam, citizenship, a new job, or study.

For me, the Estonian language is not just a subject. First and foremost, it's part of a culture. And knowing the language shows Estonians: I respect you. And that opens the door to free communication, to confidence, to new opportunities, and to the feeling of “I can do it.” For me, teaching is the ability to spark interest, to help a person believe in themselves, to find their strength, and to show them that they're strong and can handle anything - they just have to want it.

My special quality as a teacher is the ability to explain the complex in simple words. I work a lot through associations, logic, clear algorithms, and vivid examples from real life. It matters to me that a student doesn't just “learn the topic” but truly understands it, starts using the language in practice, and feels rock-solid ground of knowledge beneath their feet.

I believe you can only learn in an atmosphere of respect, humor, calm, and trust. It's in such an environment that a person opens up, stops being afraid of mistakes, and starts to speak.

How I can help

Author of learning materials

I write textbooks on Estonian as a second language for grades 4 and 6 in the Asendusõpetajad project.

Exam assessor

I know from the inside how work is graded and what assessors pay attention to.

My own method

An original approach to building vocabulary and constructing sentences that helps you start speaking instead of waiting until “all the grammar is learned.”

6+ years of practice

Hundreds of students have prepared with me for exams, study, and work in Estonia.

How I teach

I don't believe in rote memorization. I teach you to see connections, understand the logic of the language, and weave knowledge into a beautiful, coherent whole.

For me, a lesson is not a place where the teacher questions each student in turn and spends the whole group's time going over someone else's homework. I value both my time and yours, so in the lesson we focus on what matters most: we work through one specific topic, pick out the key rules, look at clear examples, and learn to see the logic of the language.

Lessons take place online on Zoom. Every lesson is recorded, so you can rewatch it if you missed a lesson or if something later stopped being clear.

The real learning begins after the lesson. I'm convinced that deep mastery of the material happens not when a student simply listens to an explanation, but when they start doing the exercises themselves and applying the topic in practice. That's exactly why every student has their own personal account in Google Classroom, where they practice the topic at a comfortable pace.

Each student's work is checked individually, and feedback is given on it. This means that in the lesson we don't hold up the whole group; instead, everyone gets their own personal guidance exactly where they really need it.

My approach is:

  • a clear and easy-to-follow explanation of the topic in the lesson,
  • independent practice after the lesson,
  • individual checking and feedback,
  • and respect for the student's time.

It matters to me that you don't just “attend the lesson” but truly understand the topic, practice it, and see the result.

A little about me

My greatest pride is my three children. And my husband, who supports me in everything. It was my family that taught me to truly value growth, patience, love, and the joy of victories big and small.

I love music, beauty, and travel. For me, travel is not just a holiday but an important part of life, where I gain new impressions, ideas, and experiences. It helps me see the world more broadly, sense people more deeply, and bring more life, meaning, and inspiration into my work.

Over time I came to understand why the age gap between my children is exactly 7.5 years: I really wanted to live the joy of their successes, discoveries, and growing up again and again. And that, perhaps, is exactly why I love teaching so much. Today I rejoice not only for my own children but also for my students - for every step forward they take, for every “I did it,” for every small victory that gradually changes a person from within.

Teaching, for me, is an amazing profession. You share your knowledge, and it doesn't shrink - on the contrary, it multiplies. And through the hands, thoughts, and successes of your students, you truly make this world a better place.
